Reliable Wound Healing & Care in Goldsboro, NC

Many people suffer from different types of wounds that will not heal, take a very long time to heal or that often close and reopen. These types of wounds are often associated with diabetes or poor circulation related to peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

The physicians and staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center are committed to treating and healing your wound.

Patients who need help in wound healing while at Wayne Memorial Hospital are treated by our wound care specialists. Typically, these are wounds that cannot be closed by surgery, skin grafting or stitches. The following types of wounds can be treated by our in-patient wound care team:

  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic wounds
  • Arterial and venous insufficiency wounds
  • Infections
  • Burns
  • Surgical wounds
  • Skin trauma (ie. dog bite, road rash, etc.)

Some types of treatment may include:

  • Debridement
  • Vacuum Assisted Closure (VAC)
  • Compression wrappings and specialty dressings

For current patients of our Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center, we provide seamless transition of care from outpatient to inpatient should they need a stay in our hospital. While receiving treatment we take measurements to gauge the healing progress. Throughout wound healing we stay in contact with the physician to relay progress and areas of concern for best outcomes. Patients who have been identified as needing continued help in wound healing will be referred to the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center for further treatment.
