The Center for Nutrition & Diabetes Health from Wayne UNC Health Care
At Wayne UNC Health Care, we know that diabetes is something that greatly affects our community. That’s why, with the Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Health (formerly known as WADEC), we offer outpatient education to help patients manage their diabetes. The Center also offers nutrition counseling to assist patients with chronic disease management, tobacco cessation and weight loss.
To schedule an appointment at our diabetes center in Goldsboro, NC, you must have a referral from your physician or provider. Educational classes are offered daily and staff will do their best to accommodate your schedule. If you have been scheduled for an appointment at our Center please bring the following:
- A medication list or bag containing all the medications you are currently taking
- Your blood sugar monitor, strips and logbook (if you are diabetic)
- Any/all insurance cards
The Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Health also offers Diabetes Support Group meetings in Goldsboro for diabetic patients and their families. These meetings are free, and each month a diabetes topic is presented by a guest speaker. Meetings are held monthly at the Center.
