Our Heart is In Healing
Many people suffer from different types of wounds that will not heal, take a very long time to heal or that often close and reopen. These types of wounds are often
associated with diabetes or poor circulation related to peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
The physicians and staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center are committed to treating and healing your wound. Our services are designed to enhance the care you receive from your primary care physician.
Our professional staff is trained to provide a specialized, comprehensive course of therapy to assist in healing your problem wound. During your course of treatment, our staff will work with your regular physician to assure complete continuity of all your medical services.
There are many different types of wounds. Some are associated with complications from diabetes, while others are related to vascular disorders. At the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center, we use the latest technologies to treat these chronic or nonhealing wounds. And we provide a full assessment of factors that may contribute to your ability to heal, such as nutrition, medications and medical conditions.
The Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center provides the area’s only certified wound specialist. Dr. Dimitrios Lintzeris serves as medical director for the center. He is board certified by the American Board of Wound Management and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, before completing his internship and family medicine residency at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL.
