Kidney Diagnosis and Management
Patients with acute or chronic renal failure, complex kidney disease, or specialized hemodialysis needs will find a full range of treatment options at Wayne Memorial Hospital, to include a state-of-the-art acute hemodialysis facility. Our specially trained hemodialysis nursing staff provides standard hemodialysis treatments in the dialysis department, as well as bedside treatments for patients in the intensive care setting. The patient’s treatment plan is supervised by a nephrologist.
Inpatient dialysis treatments are scheduled Monday through Saturday. Staff is on call after hours for emergency treatments.
Located on the fourth floor of the Hospital, the hemodialysis department offers dialysis treatments for inpatients during their hospital stay. Using a multi-disciplinary team approach, the physicians, nurses, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists guide our patients through every phase of their renal therapy. We also provide other specialized dialysis treatments, such as CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) or ultra-filtration for patients requiring advanced care.
