Because prevention and early detection are key to good outcomes, Wayne Memorial Hospital provides a wide range of services to diagnose and treat adult cancers.
Our Hospital provides preventive screenings and diagnostic capabilities that include digital mammography for breast cancer screenings and diagnosis; MRI, PET and CT scans for diagnosis; and robotic surgery for gynecological cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Wayne Memorial Hospital’s oncology team brings together the expertise of many specialties including urology, gynecology, gastroenterology, general and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology as well as wound care and psychiatry. Together, these teams develop individualized treatment plans to bring the most powerful and appropriate treatment to each patient’s specific needs.
A patient-care unit dedicated to cancer patients, staffed by oncology and chemotherapy certified nurses, supports our cancer-care physicians. Our physical therapists, dietitians, nurses, discharge planners and chaplains also work closely with the oncologist to ensure that all of the patient’s needs are met both while in the hospital and at discharge.

Our nationally recognized team of oncologists belongs to the Southeastern Cancer Control Consortium, one of the largest cancer research organizations in the southeast, helping to bring cancer clinical trials to the community. Throughout the course of each patient’s cancer journey, this dedicated oncology team is here to offer groundbreaking clinical trials, state-of-the-art treatment, and compassionate care.

Outpatient Infusion Therapy Center
The Infusion Therapy Center provides chemotherapy, blood transfusions and antibiotic treatments on an outpatient basis and is staffed by oncology and chemotherapy certified nurses. The Center is open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. seven days a week, giving outpatients flexible scheduling to meet work schedules and family obligations.
Look Good, Feel Better
Wayne Memorial Hospital participates in the Look Good, Feel Better program, which offers support to patients who are experiencing some of the appearance and self-image side effects related to cancer treatment. Patients may deal with changes to their skin, hair loss and the stress of treatment. Look Good, Feel Better helps provide special support that patients need while facing the challenges of their diagnosis.
