Got Sugar? A Healthcare Forum for Business Owners

Join us Tuesday, August 28, from 7:30 – 9 am in the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auditorium to learn how the high rate of diabetes in Wayne County may be affecting you and your business.

Dr. Alfred Okeke, diabetes and endocrine specialist with Wayne Health Medical Clinic, will open the event with an overview of diabetes in our area.

Dr. Dimitrios Lintzeris, medical director of The Wound Care Center at Wayne Memorial Hospital, will then discuss long-term consequences of not controlling your diabetes.

Shelby Ostendorf, RN, BSN, MPH, director of diabetes education for Wayne Memorial Hospital will present her program: How Diabetes Education Can Save Your Business Money.

James Sauls, a former patient of The Wound Care Center at Wayne Memorial Hospital, will close out the morning by sharing his experience and how The Wound Care Center gave him a reason to do his Happy Dance!

A healthy and delicious breakfast will be served. And, all of the presenters will be available to answer questions immediately following the presentations.

To learn more, call the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at 919.734.2241.

  • Optimism and Good Health. It’s true, your attitude is the driving force of healthy living.
