The School Health division of Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Health Promotion Services Department is staffed with certified school nurses who serve the students of Wayne County Public Schools. The primary goal is to eliminate barriers that keep students with chronic health conditions from learning and reaching their potential in the classroom. School nurses work closely with teachers, staff, parents, pediatricians, family care doctors, and students to develop individualized plans of care. Students who would ordinarily have to miss school are now able to attend school with the help of this program.
