The Medical Staff Services Office provides support to the Medical Staff, its Officers, Departments and Committees. It is responsible for the process of credentialing (appointment and reappointment) physicians and ancillary health professionals. Orientation and tours of the hospital are provided for new practitioners. The Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations are available for review as well as Department Rules and Regulations.
An orientation manual is available online in the hospital computer system which provides information on procedures for admission of a patient, preadmissions, outpatient orders, medical records, nursing policies and procedures, pharmacy information, laboratory tests, radiology procedures, pastoral services, as well as information on other areas of the hospital such as the Operating Room, Eastern Regional Surgery Center (day surgery) and the Emergency Department.
Continuing medical education programs are arranged and held each month with speakers provided through Eastern AHEC in Greenville. Tumor Conferences are held each week. Attendance records and credit hours are recorded in a database for reporting.
